Bing Von Bergen has farmed wheat and barley near Moccasin, Mont., for more than 30 years. He has served on the officer corps of the Montana Grain Growers Association for five years and has been a director of the National Association of Wheat Growers since 2008. In the 2008-2009 policy year, he was the chairman of NAWG’s Domestic and Trade Policy Committee.

In his local community, Bing has served in several leadership roles including as a director and president of the Benchland Farmers Co-op, a director of the Moore Farmers Oil Co-op and an advisory board member of the Basin State Bank. He has also been a Hobson Public School board member and an advisory member for the Central Montana Ag Research Center. In addition to farming, Bing is the co-owner of Heartland Seed Company, which specializes in small grain seeds as well as grass and alfalfa seed.

Bing served in the U.S. Army for three years after high school and later attended Montana State University. He and his wife Lois have a son, Tyler, and a daughter, Tana, both of whom attend Montana State University.
