NAWG Congratulates USDA Nominees on Appointment Confirmation

Washington, D.C. (October 03, 2017) – Steve Censky, former CEO of the American Soybean Association, and Ted McKinney, former Indiana Agriculture Director, have been confirmed for their positions at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). NAWG commends the U.S. Senate for confirming both appointments.  

David Schemm President of National Association of Wheat Growers and Sharon Springs, Kansas farmer made the following statement: 

“NAWG extends our congratulations to Steve Censky on his confirmation for Deputy Secretary of USDA and Ted McKinney on his confirmation for Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs. Both Censky and McKinney’s strong backgrounds in agriculture make them ideal candidates for their positions.  

“NAWG encourages the Administration to continue to nominate well-qualified candidates to fill critical posts at the USDA especially as we move through discussions around the 2018 Farm Bill reauthorization. We are looking forward to working with both Steve Censky and Ted McKinney in their new roles at the USDA.”
