NAWG CEO and President Attend Bayer Crop Science Grower Advisory Council Meeting
From October 9-10, 2018, NAWG CEO Chandler Goule and President Jimmie Musick attended Bayer’s Crop Science Grower Advisory Council meeting in St. Louis, MO. While attending the meeting, Goule and Musick had the opportunity to update the Council and attendees on NAWG’s current priorities and the present state of the wheat industry.
NAWG Provides Farm Bill Conference Update to WAWG Board
On October 09, 2018, NAWG VP of Policy and Communications provided an overview, via conference call, of NAWG’s recent activities, the Farm Bill, and what to expect in the coming weeks to the Washington Association of Wheat Growers (WAWG) Board. National Ag. Statistics Service (NASS) Integrates Census of Ag. Website
The USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) has announced that it has fully integrated the Census of Agriculture website into its primary website to provide a consistent look and feel across a single site, making navigation and access to census data easier and more intuitive. Merging the census and NASS websites responds to feedback from customers, stakeholders, and partners, who asked for access to all NASS data in the same visit, including on mobile devices.. Secretary Perdue Statement on President Trump’s Ethanol Announcement
On October 9, 2018, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue issued a release praising President Trump’s directive to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to begin a rulemaking process to expand the sale of corn ethanol, to include E15 year-round. Read the release here.
The National Wheat Foundation is Officially Accepting Applications for Scholarship Honoring Ag Students
The National Wheat Foundation is officially accepting applications for the Jerry Minore Scholarship, honoring a student pursuing a career in agriculture. The scholarship is available to both high school and college students for the 2019-2020 academic year with an application deadline of December 01, 2018.
